Here you will find answers to your questions
Some people are apprehensive about feeling vulnerable or feeling their bodies will be judged. This generally has nothing to do with the gender of the massage therapist, as long as clients receive a satisfactory, nurturing and professional treatment.
I have been trained to respect boundaries and I use proper draping techniques, so these issues shouldn’t be a problem.
Establishing professional boundaries and respecting the limits of clients is an absolute must.
For me, that means creating a safe and sacred space for each client, and holding them within that space. It means respecting the story and history of each client, and working within the limits and comfort level of each client. This is especially important when working with clients who have a history of cancer, abuse or trauma.
Caring touch can help these clients begin the healing process, but it has to be introduced on their terms and at their pace. As a male, I introduce “balanced male energy.” Clients are able to feel the strength of traditional male energy, but it is balanced by warm and caring energy. This duality exists in all of us, and when a male massage therapist is able to tap into it, it creates a powerful healing environment.
At the end of the day, the decision on whether or not you would see a male massage therapist is completly up to you.
But I can say with absolute certainty that this male massage therapist works very hard to create an accepting and non judgmental environment for every client.
If your car doesn’t run efficiently, you have it repaired. If your tap drips, you get it fixed. You wouldn’t even give it a second thought. Why not the same for your body. Having a regular massage is an efficient way to maintain health and your overall wellbeing.
Additionally, most natural therapies are covered by the majority of health funds, depending on your level of cover.
Do you feel like there are not enough hours in the day? In today’s rat race, it’s hard to get all the pressing things done on our daily “to-do” lists.
For many of us, we are taking care of others, so finding time for ourselves is even harder.
When we make the time to exercise, eat healthy, stretch, practice deep breathing, and receive regular massage therapy, then we are not the only ones benefitting! We become more productive at work and also are less stressed and more energised when it comes to taking care of others.
With a regular massage you will feel more energised and be able to fit more into your day.
We all have choices to make about the way we live our lives. Taking time for yourself should be your #1 priority! I encourage you to budget for and schedule regular massage therapy sessions. You and your family will be glad that you did!
Massage may seem self-indulgent. After all, for 60-90 minutes you get to lie comfortably on a heated massage table while your body surrenders into total relaxation, your mind drifts far from your daily stresses, and you are in a peaceful place.
However within that calming experience, massage therapy is actually helping your body maintain and restore vital physiological functions to help you enjoy optimal health and wellness; body, mind & spirit. Isn’t that worth the time and effort each month?
Unfortunately, people experience a massage that was too painful, didn’t take their needs into account, or feeling uncomfortable and they were concerned about seeking another massage.
This is disheartening, as I believe, a therapeutic massage is a valuable health alternative with a myriad of benefits. A bad massage ruins it for everyone.

Massage is a type of bodywork which involves manipulation of the tissue and muscles to release tension and strain. Many people enjoy massage because it is relaxing and pleasant, but it also has health benefits.
Receiving a massage at least once a month will result in cumulative health benefits for clients, but an even greater frequency will be much more effective. Ultimately, the decision of how often you receive a massage is based on input from you, your body, and your massage therapist.
Receiving a massage on a regular basis will help to promote a healthy circulatory system, along with good posture.
Massage also releases tension and pain in the muscles, allowing them to move more freely. People who receive massage frequently tend to be more flexible and comfortable in their bodies, since they are maintaining a higher level of general health.
Receiving a massage can also be good for specific conditions, such as stress, anxiety and pain, and it may even be recommended by a doctor.
Most private health funds give benefits for massage treatments. Reimbursement will depend on the insurer and the plan you have chosen.
Contact the helpline of your insurance company who will explain the actual benefits and methods of claim for your individual policy.
After a massage, a person may feel slightly light headed. It is advisable to drink lots of water following the massage to help the body remove the released acids and metabolic waste.
